Imaginary Pairing: What goes with the Snickers Nougabot Bar?
Now that the pain of watching the second Transformers movie is behind me, I can joke about the experience. Which brings me to NMD’s first thought experiment in drink pairings:
What beer, wine, or other drink would go with a Nougabot Bar? If one were to ingest these bars while watching Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, would that change the pairing?
The rules for this pairing are simple:
- The paired beverage can be real or imagined
- Please provide an adequate description of the beverage (especially imagined or “to be commissioned” works)
- If the pairing has special effects on the taster, or may, please note them where possible
- Any special instructions for eating and imbibing should be noted
- If you have a recipe for preparing or cooking Nougabot Bars, please include
Please post replies in the comments. Obviously, there is no limit on the number of pairings you may submit.

“You Got the Touch” American Light Rock Lager.
The song must be played while opening the nougabot bar at chest level, then the opened candy must be held aloft above your head with both hands.
The beer will taste like 80s rock, and will destroy Orson Wells.

A semi-dry sparkling wine. Lightness to contrast with the heavy mouthfeel of the nougat; not too sweet.
Please add me so I can blog beer! I want to write an ode to Celebrator.

“Kill Me Now” IPA. This beer is wet hopped, dry hopped, hopbacked, and served with hops. The hop varietals are unimportant, but there are many. Malt, malt syrup, maple syrup, and brown rice syrup are all used, again, in numerous varietals (including Aunt Jemima).
Unfortunately, the wort is boiled down to a charcoal like reduction and then must be spruced up with Sprite.
The label is excellent.
